This policy explains what personal data SahiPost, Nashik, Maharashtra ("we", "us") collects, why, who else sees it and the choices you have. It is written to meet India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000. By using SahiPost you agree to it.
What we collect
- Your account. Your name and email address when you sign in with Google. We never receive your Google password.
- Your business. What you tell us so we can write your plan: its name, what you sell, who you sell to, your city, the platforms you post on and your WhatsApp number.
- Billing. If you pay, your billing name, business name, GSTIN, address and invoice email, and a record of your payments, invoices and credits. Our payment partner handles your card, UPI or bank details; we never see or store them.
- Messages. What you send us through the contact form or by email.
- Usage. Which pages and features you use, your IP address, browser and device, and how you found SahiPost. We use this to keep SahiPost secure and to improve it.
Please don't give us sensitive details we don't ask for, such as health, financial or identity documents, or anyone else's personal data without their permission.
How we use it
- To build your plan and images, and keep your account working.
- To take payments, keep your credit balance and issue GST invoices.
- To email you when your plan is ready and about your account, payments and changes to our terms.
- If you tick the box to hear from us, to send previews of upcoming months, tips and offers. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
- To prevent fraud, abuse and security problems, and to enforce our Terms.
- To meet our legal duties, such as tax records, and to answer lawful requests from the authorities.
We rely on your consent, which you give by signing up and using SahiPost, and on the legitimate uses the law allows, such as meeting legal duties. We don't sell your personal data, and we don't use it to train AI models.
Who sees it
We never sell or rent your personal data. A few services help us run SahiPost, and each receives only what it needs to do its job:
- sign-in, if you sign in with Google;
- taking payments;
- generating images, which receives a description of the post and basic details about your business, never your name, email address or phone number;
- sending emails;
- measuring how the site is used; and
- hosting and storing SahiPost and its data.
These providers may use your data only to provide their service to us. Some of them may process data outside India. When they do, it is under their own security and privacy commitments and only where Indian law allows. We may also disclose data when the law requires it, to protect SahiPost, our users or the public from harm or fraud, or to a buyer if SahiPost is ever sold, who would have to respect this policy.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar browser storage to keep you signed in, keep SahiPost secure, remember your preferences, understand how the site is used and see which of our campaigns bring people to SahiPost. You can block cookies in your browser, but you won't be able to sign in without them.
How long we keep it
- An unfinished questionnaire is deleted after 24 hours if you don't sign up.
- Your account, business details, plans and images are kept while your account is open, and deleted when you ask us to delete your account.
- Payment, credit and invoice records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, currently up to eight years, even after your account is deleted.
- Security logs and records of misuse are kept for as long as we need them to protect SahiPost or as the law requires.
How we protect it
We use reasonable security measures to protect your data and limit who can see it. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee your data will never be exposed. If a breach affects your personal data, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.
Your rights
Under Indian law you can:
- ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and who we have shared it with;
- ask us to correct, complete or update it;
- withdraw your consent and ask us to delete it, except what the law requires us to keep;
- nominate someone to act for you if you die or become unable to; and
- complain to us, and then to the Data Protection Board of India if you are not satisfied.
Email [email protected] from the address on your account to use any of these. We may need to confirm it is you. Withdrawing consent means we can no longer run your account, but it does not affect what we did before.
Children
SahiPost is for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you think a child has given us their data, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will change the date at the top and tell you by email or on the site before a significant change takes effect.
